Coming Up for HCS

We are delighted to announce that the choir has returned to in-person rehearsals since the start of the new term. We continue to ensure the safety of our members and music professionals by splitting rehearsals into smaller numbers, in a venue which allows us to be socially distanced while singing – and, of course, by frequent cleaning and sanitising. And with a return to rehearsals we undoubtedly need an occasion to rehearse for…details below!

AGM

The HCS AGM will be held on 4th October; whilst we have returned to in-person rehearsals in the autumn, the AGM will be held on Zoom to allow as many attendees as possible. We wish to invite all singing members, subscribers, associates and patrons to join us. The annual report will be available to view online to supplement the contents of the meeting.

Autumn Concert

The Society is planning for the 2021-22 season to be as near “normal” as circumstances permit, starting with the Autumn concert at Huddersfield Town Hall on 29th October. The programme will be as follows:

Parry – I was Glad

Eric Whitacre –Cloudburst

Sarah Quartel –How can I keep from singing?

Instrumental Interlude

Elgar – Go Song of Mine

Bernstein –Chichester Psalms

It has to be said that all of our upcoming arrangements are dependent on the pandemic remaining at bay! Should the situation change, so will our plans need to, but that bridge shall be crossed when (if?) we come to it.

Thank you all for your continued support, we very much look forward to seeing you again and entertaining you this autumn!
