We would recommend that you aim to be at the venue 30 minutes before the performance starts.

What should I wear?
Please wear whatever you are comfortable in. If it’s a special occasion or a celebration you may like to dress up, but the choice is yours, there is no dress code.

When should I clap?
There are no set rules but most clap at the end of a work. If in doubt, follow those seated around you!

Is there an interval?
Most of our concerts have an interval of around 20 minutes when you will be able to purchase refreshments.

If I arrive late?
You will be asked to wait by the stewards for a suitable moment in the music to enter the hall.

Can I bring my mobile phone?
Yes – but please remember to turn it off.
Programmes are available to purchase at the concerts – these will give you more details about the pieces we are performing, often with the text printed. Also details of the soloists and conductor.
Experience HCS
Listen to Us
HCS are not what you expect. Myself, and several colleagues visited the Messiah performance in Huddersfield Town Hall and were blown away. The Town Hall is a magnificent venue and the whole experience was breathtaking. I wouldn't say I'm a classical music fan, but I'm open and curious to experience new music. I would highly recommend you visit HCS, you won't regret it.
