HCS Voices
HCS Voices is the Community Choir of HCS
Open to all (over 18yrs) and there is no audition.
A choir for people of all abilities and backgrounds ranging from complete beginners to more experienced singers.
We love to sing and have fun and enjoy singing music of different styles from across the globe (e.g. South African protest songs, Hebrew rounds, Irish melodies, Hawaiian folk songs, British choral pieces).

Meet The Music Director
Mitchell Wright
Mitchell Wright took over as HCS Voices MD at the beginning of September 2025 and is committed to making choral singing inclusive, ambitious, and rewarding.
Mitchell began conducting in his teens and went on to study music at the University of Huddersfield, where he developed his skills and experience in both performance and conducting. Since then, he has worked with a wide variety of ensembles, ranging from chamber choirs to large community and school groups.
He is a conductor, accompanist, and bass-baritone, and, as a singer, has performed repertoire across the classical canon, an experience that continues to inform his work with choirs. Alongside his conducting, he teaches in schools, helping young people build confidence and discover the joy of music.
