MORE competition success for HCS Youth Choirs

Friday 13th February proved lucky for the Huddersfield Choral Society Youth Choirs! The singers began a new year with a new Musical Director – Colleen Brown – but repeated their recipe for success at the Mrs Sunderland music festival. 

We are so proud of our young people who achieved 1st place in the ‘Year 9 and Under’ and ‘Year 11 and Under’ categories, and who also saw off strong competition in the ‘Under 21’ section to secure 2nd place.

The adjudicator, Bryan Husband, was impressed by the standard of all the competing choirs, placing all in the Honours or Outstanding category. He commented on the “warmth of tone and musical phrasing” of our young singers and loved the “polished, accurate and expressive” performances.
