HCS has a motto: ‘To uphold and renew a proud tradition of choral singing’ and our 2026/27 season does just that! As you will see, we’ve got some exciting concerts coming up – so to secure your seat, buy your season ticket now.
We open our season on 31st October with Mendelssohn’s wonderful oratorio Elijah, conducted by our own Gregory Batsleer, and with fabulous soloists and the Royal Northern Sinfonia. First performed by HCS in 1859, it quickly became a popular mainstay of the repertoire (performed almost annually in the later decades of the nineteenth century!) and still thrills audiences today. Charlotte Corderoy, a young conductor with a stellar future, will bring a new perspective to our Messiah concert on 19th December, along with four outstanding soloists and the Orchestra of Opera North; it’s sure to be another sell-out. For our spring concert on 10th April 2027, we are delighted to welcome eminent choral director Simon Halsey to conduct a concert that will include Duruflé’s Requiem and Imogen Holst’s Three Psalms. With Manchester Camerata and soloists from the RNCM, this is certain to be a delightful concert.
Your season ticket includes the autumn concert, Messiah and the spring concert. As you can see below, being a season ticket holder offers a substantial saving on buying individual concert tickets and you don’t have to pay a booking fee. Most importantly, you can secure your preferred seat for the season.
Note: The season ticket does NOT include the Christmas or summer concerts which can be purchased separately when individual tickets go on sale.
